First of all, fuck Trump, abolish ICE, and free Palestine.
Simply put, I consider myself an anarchist, and have labeled my political leanings this way for many years, long before Across the Spider-Verse became popular.
I believe that the current systems we live under-capitalism, imperialism, colonialism-are proving themselves incapable of sustaining a healthy society for humanity. I have worked with communists and progressives alike, and we certainly agree on many things, however that is not how I label my own views.
The state of Israel is committing a genocide against the people of Palestine, and the world as a whole has a responsibility to stop them. You should probably also know that I am Jewish, and that I want there to be a safe place for Jews, but Israel is not that–in fact, I believe that Israel’s actions make Jews everywhere less safe. I don’t speak for any movements or organizations myself, but I personally feel this way.
If you are looking for organizations in your area, here are some suggestions:
- The Slingshot Collective’s Radical Contact List (worldwide list of leftist organizations!)
- Democratic Socialists of America – while they may not be everyone’s favorite, I recommend them because they have chapters in many parts of the US, a solidified organizational structure, far-reaching connections with other local organizations, and a wide variety of initiatives and working groups to join.
- Food Not Bombs (particularly if you’re an anarchist) – Mutual aid is an important tenet of any leftist political effort.
- Your local anarchist book fair – sorry it’s a Facebook link, but it seems to be decently up-to-date and publicly available

Please note that I have not personally vetted any resources listed here, and these are just my opinions about where one might find like-minded people and avenues for action.
