PUNK ROCK SPIDER-MAN

Hi! I’m Punk Rock Spider-Man, also known as SpideyPunx. I like to creatively express my social and political views through cosplay. I started cosplaying in 2024 using the DIY skills I’d cultivated from dabbling in various arts and crafts, and I’ve been picking up lots more along the way.

My cosplays:

  • Original Red & Blue: Every piece of this cosplay is at least altered or embellished in some way, and much of it was thrifted. This was my first ever cosplay, and I’m still constantly upgrading pieces of it and remaking them by hand.
    • Newsprint texture on spikes made from clippings of political news articles, mostly current events
    • Machine-sewn red spandex undersuit and gloves—this was my first ever clothing project
    • EVA foam guitar, neck detaches to fit inside a carry-on suitcase and the body is hollow and can hold storage
    • Lenses are made from computer fan mesh and Cricut-cut EVA foam
    • Hand-embroidered grid pattern on pants and puff-painted patches
